Jovanna & Gavilan are a couple surrounded by incredibly awesome people and it was so much fun to be a part of this celebration at the Pacific Shores Resort & Spa in Nanoose Bay, Vancouver Island. The entire wedding day was truly breathtaking – from the sunny ceremony to the gorgeous sunset after the tearful speeches. For this celebration, Derek and I were joined by a very special guest photographer – Stephanie Anter from Victoria. She is as cheerful and fun as she is talented and we were so happy we were able to spend the day with her.
Their love story:
“Gavilan and I met in San Francisco, California. I was travelling for work – as was he. It was my colleague’s birthday that night and i reluctantly agreed to go for “a drink.” Gavilan came up to me in a dance club. To be honest, I couldn’t think of anything else other than getting out of there! He ran down our Uber, almost getting hit! He then asked for my number and my friend piped up and passed it over. I woke up the next morning to a message, he wanted to take me for dinner. Well I had watched to much Dateline NBC at this point and there was no WAY I was going for dinner with this stranger in a different country. He texted me the following day, the following day and the day after that. And that man has texted me every single day since that night without skipping a beat. I assure you his love for me is as consistent as his texting! Fast forward years later and we are now share a beautiful daughter, Frankie. And now we set off to our new journey. Just goes to show, you never say no to going for a drink… look what might find you!”
