Christina writes: Maria & Stephen’s wedding in Antigua, Guatemala was too amazing for words so I’m going to let the photos mostly speak for themselves. This will be a three-parter, since the festivities were almost a week long and the scenery was unreal! Antigua was once the capital of all of Central America and dates back to 1543. The city remains like a living museum with buildings appearing almost exactly as they did close to 500 years ago. We took Maria around town for bridal portraits, including the Convent Las Capuchinas, the Santa Cruz Cathedral, the famous town square, plus portraits at the Santo Domingo Monestary and Hotel where Maria & Stephen were married. If you’re thinking about having a destination wedding and haven’t yet picked a location, this is it!!! Maria’s family is from Guatemala, but this cosmopolitan girl grew up in New Orleans and New York, where she met the handsome Stephen (whose family is from Connecticut). Almost 150 people flew in for the festivities to join Maria’s family, building the guest list to almost 400 people.
