Sheena & Andy had one of THE MOST beautiful forest venues in the world for their wedding… situated deep in the woods and completely off-grid in Shawnigan Lake. They completely transformed the location from rustic to magazine-worthy, jaw-dropping perfection. Sheena writes, “We are definitely going for a rustic outdoor style wedding. We looked at a lot of venues in our search for the perfect wedding site and nothing blew us away. Our friend suggested this property and we were a little hesitant but the second we saw it we just knew it was it. We wanted a space that gave us the freedom to customize everything and create what we envisioned. It’s perfect for us. The bridal party and families were the reception designers (yes, everything was done by hand). We have all put in so much work up at the property and on all of our wedding decorations. From sanding and painting to building the bar and hand crafting every little detail. A lot of hands have gone into making our wedding a reality. Moonlight Catering did our food and were so helpful and creative in handling all of the allergies in our wacky bunch.” In case you’re wondering, Sheena’s dress was from Alfred Angelo and Lily Kennedy customized it to fit like a glove. Seriously, what an amazing gown. The bridesmaid dresses were from Victoria Bridal Boutique and the groomsmen bought their suits from Moore’s. I asked Sheena to tell me a bit about their love story. “We met years ago through some good friends of ours. We “randomly” ran into each other shortly after but what I didn’t know is that Andy had been coordinating with my best friend to arrange the random encounter. We have been inseparable ever since.”
