Its English Harbour is a yachting hub and the site of historic Nelson's Dockyard. The country is nicknamed "Land of 365 Beaches" for good reason and that's why it's an awesome location to have your destination wedding. The shorelines have lagoons, and natural harbours for as long as the eye can see. Best of all, the chance of rain on your wedding day is very low regardless of the season since the country is in a rain shadow. The rainfall average of only 39 inchs (990mm) per year with September to November being the only wet seasons. The coolest period is between December and February. The Legal requirements for marriage in Antigua and Barbuda:
*Proof of Identity:
A valid passport OR a birth certificate OR valid picture ID ie Driver’s Licence and immigration card.
*Proof of Status:
Single: A declaration signed in Antigua and Barbuda
Divorced: The original Decree Absolute stamped with the seal of the court where it was issued OR a certified copy of the Decree Absolute which includes the seal of the Court where it was issued.
Widow/Widower: Marriage certificate AND Death certificate of husband or wife.
*Application:
To be obtained from, completed at and signed at the Ministry of Justice and Legal Affairs, St.John’s. Both parties must be present at the time of application.
*Age Limit:
All applicants must be over the age of eighteen(18) unless parental consent, in writing, is submitted.
*Residency:
There is no requirement for any period of residency in Antigua and Barbuda. Arrangements can be made immediately on arrival.
*Fees:
1)Special License: US$150 or EC$405 to be paid on application
2)Registration Fee:US$40 or EC$108 to be paid on application
3)Marriage Officer: Dependent on location selected for ceremony (approx. US$100/EC$270)

The procedure starts at the Ministry of Legal Affairs on Queen Elizabeth Highway. Contact: (268)462-0017
You must take both passports and a copy of your divorce papers if there has been any previous marriages. There will be a friendly interview, then your license will be issued. The cost is EC$405.00( US$150.00).
The next step is a visit to the Registrar General’s Office, also on Queen Elizabeth Highway. Contact:(268)462-0609.
The fee is EC$108.00(US$40.00). Please note that this is only for registering at the Court House. An official marriage certificate costs EC$25.00(US$10.00). If the wedding is performed outside the Court House, there is a Marriage Officer fee of EC$270.00(US$100.00). The location is for you to choose.
