Letting the kids be kids – Documentary family photos at Hollydene Beach in Victoria BC

This is the second time I had a chance to photograph this beautiful young family and it’s so awesome to be a part of creating memories as the kids grow up. When they asked me to take their pictures at one of my favourite ocean spots – Hollydene beach – I did a little dance. And even better – they wanted a 100% documentary photo session, with no posing or instructions… we just let the kids play and be themselves, wet and mud and all. Believe it or not, this was a mini session, and we spent just 20 minutes together and this family received considerably more photos than you see here, with each image provided in both color and black and white versions. That’s the beauty of documentary photography – we can get so many candid moments in a short period of time. Are you planning a staycation or vacation in Victoria B.C.?
